Marilyn Minter, Cindy Sherman, and Laurie Simmons invite you to an Art auction benefiting Planned Parenthood of New York City and Planned Parenthood Federation of America. This event titled Choice Works will help raise money to provide reproductive health care to New Yorkers, and fight to protect women’s health in every state across the United States.

This is a crucial moment for Choice as hundreds of legislations all across the counrty have been passed restricting women’s access to reproductive health care, and this sort of law will turn back almost 42 years of steady progress for women’s rights.

The reproductive rights of women in this nation are being questioned and this is jeopardizing their access to the medical information and health care services that every women needs to be able to plan their lives and futures.

Women are being refused the power to make personal medical decisions with their doctors in many different states and we are fighting back. Choice Works art auction will help Planned Parenthood raise public awareness of the challenges facing women’s access to reproductive health care, and generate support for Planned Parenthood’s mission of protecting access to sexual and reproductive health care and comprehensive sex education.

Planned Parenthood of New York City (PPNYC) has been an advocate for and provider of reproductive health services and education for New Yorkers since 1961 serving more than 50,000 clients annually. PPNYC’s health care centers in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Staten Island, and soon in Queens, offer high quality yet affordable sexual and reproductive health care to the people of New York each year. They provide a wide-range of preventive health care services and ensure women have accurate information about all their options.

There will so a huge variety of artworks going up for bids from artis such as; Matthew Barney, Cecily Brown, Tara Donovan, Urs Fischer, Nan Goldin, Daniel Gordon, Wade Guyton, Mona Hatoum, Ed Ruscha and Jeff Koons to name a few!

The auction with take place this Friday the 15th at Sotheby’s 1334 York Avenue. The VIP preview will start at 6pm before the event opens at 6:30pm-9pm. You can view the pieces going on auction and place a bid here.
