Daniel Askill works internationally as a filmmaker and artist. As a director Daniel has created film, music videos, video installations, fashion films and commercials. The NEW YORK TIMES describes his work as “visually stunning”. Daniel finished his studies at Central Saint Martins College of Art in London, while working on visual design for Alexander McQueen. In 2001 he co-found multidisciplinary studio Collider which now represents an award winning roster of filmmakers, designers and artists. His seminal film We Have Decided Not to Die has played at hundreds of international film festivals and won major prizes at many of these.
Daniel’s work as an artist has been showcased at The Venice Biennale, Palais de Tokyo Paris, Institute of Contemporary Art London and solo shows in America, Australia and Europe. He has directed music videos for artists such as Phoenix, U.N.K.L.E, Sia, Placebo, Digitalism & These New Puritans and global campaigns for numerous brands including Cadillac, Dior, Smirnoff, Xbox and Sony. Daniel lives and works between Sydney and New York.
