Concrete Jungle is an Instagram Photo Exhibition series showcasing some of Instagram’s best photographers. The series aims to celebrate the many landmarks, streets and elements that over the years have made New York one of the greatest cities in the world. Tuesday June 2, 2015 is the launch of the second installment in Royalton’s Instagram photo exhibition series #OURCONCRETEJUNGLE. The 2nd installment titled New York in lights, features images by Russian-born, New York-based photographer Kat Irlin, @kat_in_nyc. Irlin is best known for her unique eye on landscapes and portraits.
Irlin is a multitalented fashion, fine art, and lifestyle photographer, her work captures the more glamorous and feminine side of New York through often layered images of beautiful people, glowing lights, and the most famous celebrated landmarks. Her lifestyle images and perception on city life has gained her a huge 559K following on Instagram. She accounts this following for ultimately starting her career, proving how technology is now such a huge part of our life!
Her interesting images have also led to work with a number of the most distinguished fashion houses including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Tiffany, Coach and Christian Louboutin to name a few. She has also had work published in prestigious magazines like US Vogue, WWD, Harpers’ Bazaar, Details, Flaunt and Conde Nast Traveller.
Irlin’s exhibition comes after the success of Jason Peterson’s in April and May. His work highlighted the human element in unembellished urban environments through high-contrast black and white imagery. Peterson and Irlin both live and work in NYC, as do all the photographers chosen for the series.
#OurConcreteJungle features four of Instagram’s best photographers showcased throughout Royalton’s lobby. The different artists work will be on rotation over a period of eight months from April 14, 2015 through November 30, 2015. Each image maker receives a 60-day run and presents fifteen photographs showcasing New York through their unique option.

Following New York in Lights by Kat Irlin (@Kat_in_NYC) June 1, to July 31, 2015 will be New York in the Sky: by Ryan Parrilla (@Novess) from August 1, September 30, 2015 and New York on the Streets by Jose Silva (@JNSilva) which will be running from October 1, through to November 30th.
