It might be hard to imagine that the lives of Alice Cooper, Edie Sedgwick, Willem de Koonig and Sid Vicious once intertwined. But had you been lucky enough to be part of the international art hub that was based at the Chelsea Hotel in the 80s, you might have bumped into any of the legendary artists that all walked the halls of the New York landmark.
And now, in the anticipation of its reopening in 2015, the owners of the Chelsea Hotel have commissioned Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis—or as we all know her, Punk Princess aka. Princess TNT—to portrait some of the artists that she interacted with while frequenting the hotel during the height of its popularity.
The exhibition is on view at the Chelsea Hotel Storefront Gallery by appointment only until June 25th.
