Rose McGowan has directed a short film, entitled “Dawn”, available to watch on YouTube now. “Dawn” is about “a quiet young teenager who longs for something or someone to free her from her sheltered life”. The 17-minute film follows Dawn as she battles her shy nature and tries to become more adventurous. Seen through the lens of a teen girl, classic emotions of loving, longing, pressure and embarrassment are present. The thematic mood of wanting to get out of your own skin and be someone else can be felt even in scenes with no dialogue. The oddly upbeat and at times haunting cinematography follows the story to its end. Watch now and be swept into a sun-drenched yet treacherous world as easily as Dawn was.
