“The study of the anatomy of the foot, and the arch of the foot in particular, focuses on posture and equilibrium in motion and a deep understanding of the physical and spiritual connection between the parts of the body involved in the act of walking,” states the press release for Museo Salvatore Ferragamo’s new exhibition, which opened today.
Named Equilibrium, the exhibition explores the late designer’s “foot” theories via artworks from several internationally acclaimed artists like Marina Abramovic, Alexander Calder and Pablo Picasso as well as offering a view on historic art such as the Nike’s Foot in gilded bronze dating back to Roman times found in the Forum of Augustus.
