Japanese-born Tadashi Shoji has taken inspiration from pretty much everywhere; he’s previously taken his woman to the Turkish Empire as well as the Russian Empire. But this season typical Moroccan tile patterns and Moorish architecture had gained the attention of the 66-year old designer.
Typical to the Spanish region of Andalusia and North-Morocco, Moorish architecture is characterized by its excessive decorations of the many arches and intricate tile work. The often colorful tiles could be seen in the designers color scheme as well as in the laser cuts featured on dresses – long and short, which were especially visible on a navy suede cape.
