Yesterday, the Dutch National Ballet premiered their new collaborative performance Dutch Doubles. Among the chosen Dutch artists were the fashion darlings and Visionaire contributors, Viktor & Rolf.
“To collaborate again with the National Ballet after our Spring/Summer 2014 Haute Couture show in Paris was a real joy as we know the dancers now. We twisted the classic tutu and during Jorma’s beautiful ballet there is a striking, surreal effect,” said the duo about the project.
With this project the Dutch National Ballet brings four prominent Netherlands-based choreographers together with world famous Dutch artists from various disciplines: choreographer Jorma Elo with Viktor & Rolf, choreographer Hans Van Manen with harpist Remy Van Kesteren, choreographer Ton Simons with photographer Rineke Dijkstra and choreographer Juanjo Arques with conceptual artist Krijn De Koning.
